A&E will not be bringing back the cop drama.
August 30, 2013
A&E has cancelled The Glades after four seasons. The drama aired its now-series finale earlier this week, where it drew a season-high viewership of 3.4 million people.
The Glades ran for a total of 49 episodes since its premiere in the summer of 2010. It will be remembered as A&E's first original series that was picked up for more than one season.

One of the few shows my wife and I both enjoy. My wife was just telling me that she thought it was Ray's mom who shot Jim minutes before I read of the cancellation. Horrid way to end the show. Should have done a proper wrap up and had them get married and then end. Disappointed to see it go.

You should reconsider. Great show; I have watched every season. Please bring back -at least one more season.

after watching this show since the beginning and watching Callie & Jim relationship change and grow this was a sellout. Not only are we robbed out of one of the few cop shows that makes you think about the case but interesting characters as well.
I hope someone starts a petition to bring it back. I would sign it.

I realize the cost of making a show with rising costs. So if you think it might not make the cut at least give it a proper ending. Since they did not do so I am calling management cold, non caring Mucky Mucks. Better than using The four letter words I would like to use. HAVE THE DECENCY TO GIVE THE SHOW A Happy ending. Enough said. MKL

I must say I totally agree with all the other comments. Why in the world would you cancel the show with an ending like that. If you're stupid enough to cancel the best show on your network at least do it with a happy ending. You must be out of your minds. I will no longer watch anything on you network. Of course there is nothing else worth watching.

sad news. If it had to be canceled - as all good things must come to an end - couldn't we at least have KNOWN what happened? Carlos knew where he went so he went to check on him. The US marshall was the one who shot him, or her ex, or whatever. Cliffhangers are supposed to bring you back for more

Why cancel a really entertaining who done it show with actors doing a great job acting out the story line. If ratings go down isn't that the fault of the writers. So cancel them out and bring in new ones. Plenty of them out there! Right?
Plus I know why you ended it the why you did. It's no secret to me. It was so people would get upset and start calling or committing. If this was a test, bravo on you because it worked on me. Here I am asking you to bring it back!
Anybody else agree?

What?! Are seriously for real!! Canceling the Glades Just like that!! In a cliffhanger never the less. Stupid as hell!! Next to Longmire, the Glades was the best show you had in A&E!! Alot better than them other shows you have on there. That should been canceled!! But not the Glades!!! You are making a huge mistake by doing this. I hope you get flooded with comments, emails, calls, 24/7 about the bonehead stupid mistake you've made. By canceling my and everyone elses favorite show!!! I hope you can sleep good at night now!! Not!!!

Ok, People, lets be honest here. I know everyone here hates reality shows. But in the end. from a network view. It is not about making the fans happy. There is nothing owed to the fans. Lets cut that out right away. I know you want to think that, but from a business standpoint, it is and always has been about making money. Money succeeds, not viewer base.
so as a network exec, you have a non reality show that has declined big times in ratings the last two years. like someone mentioned, it went from 3.8 millions viewers an episode average for season two to 2.5 million 2 seasons later in season 4. And like mentioned, with rising budgets, salaries, cost of filming, there is no way you can greenlight this show for another season. Im sorry, you may love it, but the fact is that is has declined in quality and viewership the last two years. Just because 3.4 million viewers, lower than the season two total keep in mind, tuned in for the finale, does not make up for the rest of the season.
So as a business move, the show needed to be canceled. Maybe replaced with a new cheap reality show, maybe replaced with a new original show. We dont know. Keep in mind people, not every show cancelled is replaced by a reality show. You sound ignorant and bitter when you say that. Every, and i mean EVERY canceled post ends with people saying it will be replaced with a reality show. When 90% of the time it its. Do some research.
And it tires me when people post that execs are mucky muck drug users and alchoholic (mike, or MKL, this is you, grow up) just because you dont understand business or economics. Not every little show is successful. And when a show is cancelled its cause of financial means. Maybe next time you watch a show and not dvr it for a week later?
