The drama will not return for Season 4.
September 10, 2013
Fans of AMC's The Killing will be saddened to hear that the series has been cancelled once again. The cable network has decided not to bring the crime drama back for a fourth season.
Originally cancelled after Season 2, The Killing was revived after a strong backlash from fans when it was made known that a third season was not planned. Season 3 returned to decent ratings but ultimately ended flat compared with Season 2's numbers, which led to the show's cancellation in the first place.

I really liked this show. Great acting, for the most part. I hope somebody sees Joel Kinnaman for the awesome actor he is and offers him some work soon!

Sad day, great show, watch AMC cancel Hell on Wheels next. AMC just doesn't get it.

This show has been treated like garbage since it was cancelled the first time. It's a show completely different than the majority of the trash that gets renewed season after season after season. The acting, especially by the two main characters, is incredible. It is such a unique show, where you go in-depth into one case over the course of each season, rather than each case getting solved in 42 minutes like everything else on TV. AMC should be ashamed of themselves....AGAIN for cancelling one of the truly great shows on TV.

I'm hoping that the series gets picked up elsewhere, or at least gets saved again. If it does come back, I'm hoping that they can have a little more variety with the show-focusing on one thing the entire season seems a little too slow.

It's a very sad commentary that well written, well acted quality shows cannot find a lasting forum.

I'm fed up with the way this show has been treated. It has to be one of the best shows on TV. Season 3 was excellent. A terrible decision to cancel ... yet again.

The problem with the show is that it is EXCEPTIONALLY depressing. The Seattle weather is always overcast, raining, and grim. That mixed with the subject matter and the complete lack of any light-hearted moments just makes for an hour of a downer. The story line, acting, and production values are really good. If the setting was simply moved to a city with less rain and overcast days the show would be much more pleasant to watch. I can only watch a turtleneck (seriously, does she own anything other than turtlenecks?) and drizzle for so long.

The last season was saved because Netflix picked it up, wasn't it? AMC just jumped on the bandwagon since it only had to fund half of it at that point.
Maybe they'll save it again~
