HBO announced today that Boardwalk Empire has been renewed for a fifth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama, which chronicles the life of "Nucky" Thompson during 1920s prohibition in Atlantic City, continues to be one of the network's most-watched original programs. This season the show has averaged an audience of 7.5 million viewers.
No time frame has been announced for the show's fifth season return, but mid-September 2014 appears likely.

Awesome! HBO Rules!! The 'Sopranos' of the 1920's. "Boardwalk Empire" and "Game of Thrones" are the two best shows currently on Cable television (especially now that Starz was stupid enough to cancel "Magic City"). Congrats on your first 5 seasons, and looking forward to another 5 seasons!! Best HBO show since "The Sopranos".
