The new cop drama gets the early axe.
October 18, 2013
NBC has cancelled freshman series Ironside after just three episodes. The police drama premiered earlier this month but failed to catch on with viewers in its 10:00pm Wednesday time slot.
The show is NBC's first drama of the 2013-2014 season to get the axe.

I enjoy the show but I think the show needed better writers. The lead person was really good but he needed to be himself and not make the show a remake but maybe the old ironside as a person he looked up to and that why he wanted to be a policeofficer, but 3 weeks is not enough time to related to the actors in the show. I hope nbc would be smart and try it again. I really do not watch nbc much but I would watch if this came back. Take a look what happen to star trek how it took off after a few changes .thank you

I really liked the show and thought it was done well. Nice concept to bring back, especially for the handicapped/disabled community.

I was really feeling the show, NBC needs to bring it back in a new time slot.

Bad idea, merciful end. But I give kudos for trying something that didn't start with the words 'Law & Order' in the title, again. Same thing with CBS' 'CSI' and 'NCIS' franchises. Waiting for CBS to revive 'Mannix' next.

I don't even understand what the point of this "remake" was when they admitted that the ONLY thing that was taken from the original show was the fact that the main character solved crimes from a wheelchair. big deal. why even call it a remake when every other aspect of the show had nothing to do with the original? and anybody under the age of probably 50-55 wouldn't even get the wheelchair reference anyway.

Yet another show cancelled before it can pick up speed & really get rolling (yes rubbish pun intended) why cancel a show after 2 or 3 episodes? Yes ok I'll grant the ratings were shocking, but you need to let shows find their feet, sometimes a show might be the next best thing but could take a hit in ratings until the mid-point of season 1, some of the more crappy shows seem to stick around with worse ratings yet shows with potential cen canned, shame really that we're focusing more on tween shows or reality, but its not just NBC, its most stations now-a-days, oh well.

Never watched the show. Remakes are usually bad,,,,wrong time and wrong lead actor

I saw the first episode of Ironside for just 15 minutes. That's how bad it was. Like my mother always use to say Never do remakes of something good. So how many remade shows is that now? Let's count. Knight Rider. Kojak. Charlie's Angel's. And Ironside. The only remade show that seems to be hanging on is Hawaii Five-0. I remember Ironside from when I was a kid. It was 1967-1975 and stared Raymond Burr. Now this remake was nothing close to the original.
