The new cop drama gets the early axe.
October 18, 2013
NBC has cancelled freshman series Ironside after just three episodes. The police drama premiered earlier this month but failed to catch on with viewers in its 10:00pm Wednesday time slot.
The show is NBC's first drama of the 2013-2014 season to get the axe.

After Lucky 7 I was expected this or Hostage would be the next cancellation. I have to say also I though I would like a disable actor to play the main roll. The scripts could be different such us to avoid the flashbacks. But that is not the motive I left the serie. 10 pm is the last show in the nigth and have to be really good such is one remain watch this. And at lest, It was not bad but neither good such as I decided to watch this.

Smelled this coming long before the show even aired. While the premiss worked in the 60's (or whatever era the original was) there's just no way it would work in this era. If it were going to work... they needed to stick to COURTROOM not "action cop show". I don't know what idiot decided that Ironside could be a hard-hitting, modern, detective, but that person should be fired and isolated on a deserted island all to themselves because, obviously, no one else thinks that way.

NBC should have gotten Oscar Goldman to rebuild him. I'd watch that. You betcha.
Blair's acting was NOT "spot on." Also, Blair should fire his agent for allowing him into this mess.
Just put Blair Underwood and Taye Diggs in the same series and get it over with. I know that's what everyone in Hollywood believes we want to watch.
NEW on N B C... "Diggs Underwood".....

love the guy who played iron side but the rest of the cast was redundant .
it should have been flash backs leading up to how he got in his wheel chair and maybe one particular criminal who put him there feeling let down by the show was really stoked

The show constantly flashbacked to his life before the wheelchair and even started the show with him on his feet showing how he got paralyzed.
Colette name one disabled actor who could do the walking in the flashbacks. Then you have a point otherwise you do not have a point and quit wasting our time with your nonsense.

GREAT ! Cannot stand ( sorry ) for stupidity. Catching the bad guys while breaking all the rules is stupid. Even if got to court getting information by holding a man over the top of a building - . Why not just beat the crap out of him ands we can get 2 episodes per hour.

I didnt watch! Why put Blair Underwood in a wheelchair when their are disabled actors around why not give one of them a chance? would also have been more realistic!

I'm disappointed because I likes this version of Ironside. Blair Underwood's acting was spot on. As producer, he took an old show that was Raymond Burr's second coming after Perry Mason, and gave it a fresh twist. It was as good a cops and robbers show as some others that are allowed to run on and on (Law and Order Criminal Intent [TGIF: thank goodness it's fried]NCIS Los Angeles, etc.). What criteria are these studios using to determine a show'a worthiness. I honestly don't believe the viewer has anything to do with it. I think the advertisers create control groups who make these decisions for the studios.

Nbc tried to reboot a show nobody remembered. I would have never known about the old series if it werent for being forced to watch metv with the moms. I didnt think the reboot was bad, but i knew it wouldnt last long. Oh well i have enough crap im recording they just eased up a hour of my life. Thanks nbc

I remember them old Ironside and it would be canceled if it was shown today. The new one was ok. I watch ten+ hours a day and this show needed to be advertised and probably given a second chance at a different time. Sorry the networks spend so much time and money for a two week experiment really sucks. But as I have said before the station mucky mucks running things need to be replaced.
