No Season 3 for the sci-fi drama.
May 9, 2014
NBC has cancelled Revolution, opting to pull the plug on the sophomore series after two seasons. The show's Season 2 ratings have been lackluster, and far below its Season 1 numbers.
Revolution got off to a strong start when it first premiered in 2012, debuting with a strong 4.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and staying at a 2.6 or above for the first half of the season. Viewership dipped for the back half but stayed at a respectable number to warrant a renewal.
The show's second season has been a different story, with its premiere starting at a 1.8 and falling as low as 1.1 for its most-recent episode this past Wednesday.
Revolution's series finale is scheduled to air on May 21.

I watch a lot of shows from other countries and premium, and they greenlight a show, it runs its story line and then it stops, and if ratings hit the floor, they tell the writers to wrap it sooner. Stupid U.S. TV constantly cut shows mid-story. Why bother getting interested in a storyline only to have it cut? They more they do it, the more shows fail. How many story shows are left now? And when they do give them a chance to wrap it up they have like 4 or less show to do it. Often also the writers don't blog or post what they intended to end with because their pissed. Morale of the Story: Don't bother with U.S. story shows, they either get stretched too far and end quickly or they end in the middle. Too bad for the people involved failure is like 80%-90%, and terrible for us the paid-by audience

I'm disappointed that the networks again cut a show that's creative and different to keep reality shows and sit-com's about dysfunctional families. They move shows and put them up against shows like Survivor and wonder why they don't get the ratings? People just don't want to watch TV based on network programming. I watch on-line when it fits my schedule. Instead of the networks deciding what shows get cut, perhaps we should be able to vote like on reality TV to keep our favorites. Watching on-line would be a vote too. I don't even want to start watching a new show until I know the network has given it a full season and my friends feel the same way. I actually prefer to wait and watch them on Netflix when you can watch several in a row and don't have to worry about the networks pulling them off their websites so they aren't available. The networks need to realize that their rating system is just not working anymore.

It could have been a great show, but the network didn't quite get it right.

WHY WAS HIS SHOW CANCELED. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TV. LET ME GUESS NBC IS PROBABLY GONNA REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER SINGING COMPETITION OR DANCING. MAYBE NBC SHOULD PLACE THE BLAME ON THEMSELVES FOR THE LOW NUMBERS. I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR THE OLYPICS BUT REALLY?!?! IT WAS UP AND DOWN ON WHEN THEY WERE GONNA SHOW IT. THEY WOULD SHOW A COUPLE OF EPISODES THEN TAKE IT OFF FOR A MONTH. THIS REALLY STINKS. MAYBE ANOTHER NETWORK CAN PICK IT UP.

I am so disappointed. This is my favorite show on TV...I don't understand ???? I'm so tired of talent crap and other reality shows and how many cop shows do we really need. This show gives insight as to what could happen today with all our stupid human behavior. Please keep it on.

On another note, the "Big Three" should at some point become aware, these ridiculous hiatus' they put new shows on KILL them. On top of it, they refuse to give decent shows a fighting chance to pull out of the pit after going through it. This show is case in point, they split up the first season, then another long hiatus, then barely a peep out of NBC that it was coming back on. What did they expect? To be completely honest, I can't remember (other than Revolution and Marvel AOS) the last time I even watched a show on CBS, NBC or ABC! Way, WAY too much reality TV for my tastes. Thoughtless nonsense that's relatively cheap to make. Whoever is running these studios need to wake the heck up. Just my 2 cents.

This is on NBC. The hiatus of this show seemed like an eternity. I really enjoyed the first season but (even though I am taping it) haven't watched a single episode of season 2. Furthermore, I didn't even know it had started up again until I was checking what was recorded. Terrible job as usual NBC!

I agree with everyone here. This show has potential just give it time. And stop having us the viewers wait so long to see episodes. Maybe Syfy wants to pick up the show. I will definitely watch it!
