The new comedy gets the early axe.
May 10, 2014
CBS has cancelled new comedy Friends with Better Lives. The mid-season series premiered in late March and is only five episodes into its run. Ratings for the show have been average thus far but clearly not at levels the network would like to see in its time slot.
The series marks star James Van Der Beek's second failed venture into television comedy in recent years. His last series, Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23, fared better but was cancelled midway through its second season.

Sad to hear this! :( I thought this show had a lot of potential! I thought the characters were well written and funny. I loved seeing Maria Delfino on TV again! Haven't seen her on a show since I watched Roswell!

Good point Derek. Some of the shows on cable that have a good following wouldn't have survived on the major ntwrks

Network television should gear up like cable does. Give a show a full twelve episodes and then make the call. 5 episodes is really not enough to gauge a shows success in my opinion. Especially since this show was so funny

Hell. My wife was even getting into this one. Talk about not giving a show a chance!

It took a few episodes but now that I'm into it and like it, it's cancelled. Hey CBS, maybe you should premiere shows in the FALL!

Once again, a network not givinga good show a chance. Sucks.
