The reality series is pulled from the schedule.
November 2, 2014
FOX has cancelled its year-long reality experiment Utopia after less than two months on the air. The new series, which followed a group of strangers forming their own society in an isolated location, never managed to find a significant audience in the weeks since its September premiere.
The show first began with two airings each week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. After a slow start, the network pulled the Tuesday episodes in early October. Its Friday numbers continued to fall, prompting today's cancellation which is effective immediately. Utopia's live stream ends tonight.

The show was ok but I can't stand when Fox cancels a show, its always effective immediately! Who's to say the remaining episodes blow up the ratings and Fox could reconsider.

I watch a lot of tv and give every show a solid chance. Even glass house that was really bad.. The problem was the show stayed out of it to much. The idea was good but look at other shows like big brother. Letting ppl just do what they do every day is not enough unless there is A lot of drama. Once red and dave went drama dropped hard. Lets be honest drama = us watching. With no comps or anything and once drama went it was like watching people in everyday lives. TBH if many of us want to watch that we live it.
I watched live feed and every show on tv. Was hoping for some kind of comeback but show did not step in

About time!
This was a great concept for a reality show... BUT... when you put people together who are sooo opposite you can't create A Utopia.
I would like to see a different network use the concept and start from scratch.

@ Bumpoff - You're missing the point here. Sometimes you continue to watch just to see whether the show will improve over time. Apparently you are one of the very few that liked this show. It's not that anybody's gloating, it's just that what looked good on paper doesn't necessarily work out in reality, and your opinion isn't any more valid than anyone else,s.

I wanted to like it, but the producers blew it. Two months of focus on who is shacking up with who is boring. They also made sure that the society would fail by casting a bunch of people who were mostly oddballs and almost certain to conflict with one another. Only a few seemed like everyday people who might be a neighbor, a colleague, or a friend. How could they expect a viewer to relate to any of them?

I agree with Robin. I wanted to like it. It was actually a good idea. Bad host, bad choice of reality people....look at Survivor and Big Brother, and get a clue. These people on Utopia had no idea how to work in a cooperative manner to accomplish anything. If the original pilgrims were this inept and only wanted to find romance, we wouldn't be watching anything today, lol. Pioneers, Native Americans...all know what is important and what isn't. I would like to see this attempted again with new producers and editors, and definitely a new casting director.

Fox used to have more imagination. Remember Joe Millionaire and "Man vs Beast"? Those were dumb shows but at least they entertained. This was garbage. Adios. Won't be missed.

I actually did watch several episodes of this show and what I could never understand is how do they expect to create a "utopia" when everyone is coming in wanting everyone else to conform to THEIR personal idea of what a utopia should be? All of these conflicting beliefs lead to anarchy and war not a utopia. The only way to create a utopia is if everyone shares the same beliefs about EVERYTHING but I guess that type of show would have been too boring. This show was a bait and switch. It should have been called "Anarchy."
