The new drama's future is in doubt.

It is being reported that FOX will be pulling Red Band Society from its schedule after the show's upcoming tenth episode. That will leave three of its already-produced 13 episodes unaired, with their future status in question.
The network has also declined to pick up a full season of the freshman drama, halting its production after the initial order completed filming. Low ratings have plagued the series since its September debut, making its prospects for a second season return slim.
As it stands, the December 3 episode is the last one currently on the FOX schedule.

Such a bummer. As someone who works with teenagers, I appreciated the genuine portrayals of the struggles the characters faced. And it has good writing, would be a shame if Fox pulled this show.

The sad thing is the networks don't care about heart. Its all about the almighty dollar. This show needs to be picked up by someone like Hallmark or Lifetime, although some of their decisions about keeping shows or not sucks too.

Yet they renew crap like American Idol year after year...Red Band was one of my top 5 favorite shows - but of course it'd be axed bc it's not 18-49 friendly; it's 13-30 & 50+ friendly. None of the other 4 shows I love air on FOX. One of my other 5 has already been cancelled and a second is in trouble. 18-49 year olds aren't watching GOOD tv on tv anymore.

This is bull. RBS was not "pulled from the schedule" it was always intended to have the fall finale now.

The show started out so strong with the first two episodes, but has sort of fallen flat since then. I still enjoy it, though. It will be sad to see it go.
