The new comedy gets the axe.
February 4, 2015
CBS has pulled freshman comedy The McCarthys from its schedule effective immediately. Since its October premiere, the series has struggled to find a sizable audience in its Thursday night time slot behind Two and a Half Men.
The move, which effectively cancels the show, comes after its 11th episode, cutting its season short by four of a total of 15 episodes ordered.

This show always cracked me. I loved it so much, me and my family are sad that it's gone. Plus it's hard to find a comedy that is clean for the whole family.

I was enjoying the McCarthys and can't believe it's gone it's time to put back on the good shows and give them a chance to develop fan base I feel there are more than they even took into consideration

Why do I bother to get into any show. Every time I see a show that I like it is cancelled after 1 season. Networks need that quick win or it's gone. They're not willing to allow a show to build that fan base any longer. If you watch some of TV's "classics", they weren't that great in the early episodes. It took time for them to form into the shows we know and love. That time is gone. Be high rated in the beginning or your done! Bring on the slew a reality show trash!

The only upside to this is that Laurie Metcalf may return to "Big Bang Theory" to play Sheldon's mother, a role she really excelled at.

Sorry to see this go.
It doesn't fit into my usual PnR, 30 Rock, Portlandia etc. style taste, but it had a lot of charm. The characters were endearing. The comedy is quite broad, but not in a way that felt pandering or condescending. The Secret Santa episode was fantastically written and showed how clever the show could be. It's a shame it won't reach its potential.

They should of never had it behind two and a half that show should of been cancelled when Charlie Sheen was no longer on it. It's a shame it was a good show. Always cancelled the good ones but keep to many lame ones this is why I don't watch a lot of ABC NBC or CBS shows. Just like Friend with Better Lives got cancelled too soon.
