The new comedy gets the axe.
February 4, 2015
CBS has pulled freshman comedy The McCarthys from its schedule effective immediately. Since its October premiere, the series has struggled to find a sizable audience in its Thursday night time slot behind Two and a Half Men.
The move, which effectively cancels the show, comes after its 11th episode, cutting its season short by four of a total of 15 episodes ordered.

After watching the first episode, I couldn't remember even chuckling once during it, so I scrapped it. Maybe I'n too old to get it, but I live in Boston, and I just didn't find it poignant/funny/anything. It does, however, make sense that the people that liked this show also like(d) The Millers, Last Man Standing, and Mike and Molly (the least crappy of the three). I now understand that there are a bunch of people that finds something humorous in these types of shows, so I finally understand why they get on the air. I'm probably in the minority.

Sorry to see this cancelled. Laurie Metcalf was at her best on this show. Loved the entire cast. But lets keep two Broke Girls, that might as well be called 2 broke sluts. SAD CBS, very SAD!!

I am really upset this show is cancelled. It was one of those lol shows. The comedies I watch are less and less. I am down to Last Man Standing and Mike and Molly. The more popular ones I do not find funny at all.
