The new drama is pulled from the schedule.
March 6, 2015
NBC has cancelled Allegiance, pulling the freshman drama from its schedule after five episodes. The series had gotten off to a slow start since its premiere last month, failing to draw significant viewership in the 10:00pm Thursday time slot.
Beginning next week, the network will move new episodes of The Slap to Thursdays at 10:00pm. In the 8:00pm hour, where The Slap previously aired, episodes of Dateline: The Real Blacklist will air ahead of new episodes of The Blacklist.

Why does every stinking reality show get renewed season after season, and this includes crap like Dancing with the Stars? This show wasn't that bad, and it was certainly more intelligent than any low-brow RT show.
Has the intellect of the average American plummeted that low?? Yikes.

This show was different. I can't believe they are cancelling it. Where will Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys find work now? I hope they don't just put on Louie reruns. At least we will have three seasons to watch on DVD.

It's due to the morons who support horrible writing such as the Allegiance had that these types of shows keep getting green lit. If people stopped supporting the hack work network writers are pumping out, then they'd be forced to WRITE BETTER. I'm all for GOOD scripted drama - Americans, Better Call Saul, Bates Motel, Walking Dead, Justified, Vikings - but BAD scripts are bad scripts. The non-network channels have better shows because the writers actually have to work more. Network writers are just hacks doing whatever they have to for the paycheck without any inspiration, creativity, or shred of integrity. Even good writers QUICKLY fall into this category after their first (and often only) good show -- think Tim Krig and Heroes, fantastic first showing.. everything since has been the same hack work. (As Dig will end up being).

WOW BUB temper temper. We seem to have a lot of mixed emotions on if the show is good or bad which is ok. No need to be argumentative over it. Maybe the people who do not like it will be happier with a reality replacement or another cooking show. Just saying.

I'm amazed people fell for this show. I watched the first episode and was so turned off by the lack of any real character development, the deplorable acting, and the "hurry up" and make something, anything, seem important - even though it really isn't yet - scrip, I could not possibly imagine the type of brain-dead, drooling, morons that would fall for this junk. ANY and ALL glimmers of decency were stolen from The Americans. But clearly they wanted to seem as though they weren't copying that show, even though they were. The fact this lasted 5 episodes simply shows they gave it 4 more episodes than it deserved. It's not the network's fault that some of you people have HORRIBLE taste in television and the rest of the viewers are rightly seeing junk like this removed from schedules.

FIVE episodes!!!!!!!!
What the hell is wrong with you assholes!!!!
It's a really good show. The slap is ignorant as hell. Really tells a lot about the KIND of people running these programs.
Allegience had a main plot of a family working together. Not quite as juicy as a bunch of raging morons tearing each others families apart.

I liked the first couple of episodes, but it quickly went off the rails. The last episode was the worst. Everybody flipped 180 degrees from their previous roles. Especially "Alex". He constantly flip-flopped about his newly minted hatred for his Russian spy parents, while he simultaneously committed treason against the United States to help them.
Plus, he went from genius savant to bumbling fool in zero seconds flat and nobody in the CIA or FBI raised a single flag.
They probably pulled it because they didn't have a script for next week.

Another reason I'm considering cutting the cord. The good shows don't last and so I can get them online quickly. I hate reality TV and that's about all that works any more.

Seriously? The slap replacing Allegiance is a slap in the face (pun intended). The characters on The Slap are weak, slimey, ignorant, and all over the place. It literally turned my stomach while Allegiance kept my attention and left me waiting for the next episode. Another terrible decision.

Please reconsider this show. My husband and I really have enjoyed this and especially right after Blacklist. Allegiance is different and kept you on the edge of your seat. It is well written and well acted, so give this show another chance. We are so tired of all these reality shows ,[ give them their own network] and give us some good and exciting programs to watch. Give us Grownups some good programing instead of all the other rubbish you keep making us watch. Please quite insulting our intelligence. We are tired of seeing a lot of the good shows go and all the crappy ones stay.
