Time to kill off this show. Only the first season was worth watching.

Talk about confusing the artists' work and their lives- The show is a FICTIONAL account of the time Piper Chapman spent in prison (as in NOT REAL), her book is her own story, in her own words which is why it's a MEMOIR (AKA MEMORIES in English) and not those of the inmates/staff she was with. BOOK=REAL...TVSHOW= NOT REAL

What's a book? Oh that thing they make when a movie does well.

Awesome news. It really is the only reason to have Netflix. They have a hit and I hope it will continue it's rise in popularity. She could always get extra time for almost anything they want to have her character do. Attempted escape would add an automatic 7 years.

Speaking to other comments. If done right they not only could do an entire season based on her life after she gets out but they could also just fictionalize her going back. There is also the possibility of a sort of spin off w new characters coming in.

The show is all about her. At the end of the 2nd season, she has been there 8 months. I assume Netflix will milk the popularity for all they can. Some seasons may only span a few weeks of her sentence. There are parts of the book they can drag out for a while. Again, read the book, it is awesome! Tastyee's name in real life was Delicious! lol

Her sentence was 15 months. We don't know the exact time frame of the show though, how much time has actually passed. 2 years of the show being on the air does not always equate to 2 years in the time period of the show.
People have been released as well. Tastyee was released in season 1 and came right back in. A lot of them have much longer sentences than Piper though.
As for the longevity of it, I wouldn't mind if Piper got out and the show continued with the long timers and new blood.

Frankly,it would make the show more realistic if some of the characters got released, including Piper.

This is a great show and I hope it goes 6 or 7 seasons! Her sentence was 15 months, of which she served 13 of it. Everyone should should read her book, it is amazing.

If you're seriously curious, you could re-watch the first episode --I know they say it at the outset -- or you could Google it. There's probably a wiki.
