The sophomore drama will not return for Season 3.
April 29, 2015
It is being reported that Syfy has cancelled Helix after two seasons. The dramatic thriller aired its final episode earlier this month, where it drew series-low viewership numbers that are in stark contrast to the healthy audience it attracted just a year ago.

Loved the first season of the show. I was really looking forward to season 2 and found myself just not as interested in it. The story didn't seem to flow as well as the first season and after of a couple of episodes, it lost my viewership. I can't say I'm surprised they cancelled the show myself.

Yeah - season 2 was a disaster imho. The first season was good up front, established some interesting ideas but then got a little too clever for itself.. but ultimately it was pretty good.
Season 2 begins ok, but then.. WTF? The FF to the future was ok, but half the characters go completely off the rails in manners that make no sense whatsoever. The skinny chick could in NO WAY have had that football sized fetus... that was ridiculous. It just turned into a ridiculous soup of odd alliances and back-stabbings that felt like it was being written by a 7 year old.
Too bad - the show had some cool ideas but lacked the discipline and skill to wrap a story around them.

I agree with those who feel that season 2 wasn't as good as season 1. I hated the flash forward scenes. I was able to follow it for the most part, I just didn't care. I liked the show, but I won't miss it.

I love this show and am upset it was cancelled. But, to be fair, SyFy makes so many series that only last one or two seasons, I was surprised Helix got a 2nd season. It's like, they throw a bunch out there and only a few stick. So, remember when you watch SyFy to not get too attached to it's freshman shows.

I enjoyed this show, but there is a trend toward shows like this becoming too complicated; when watching them simply requires too much intellectual effort. I work 12 hour days, so when I sit down after supper to watch something like Helix or 12 monkeys I just don't have the energy to keep up with them (see orphan Black). I often end up dozing off and have to rewind a few times to watch what I missed.

Season 1 was ok. Season 2 wasn't really good, I just watched it in hopes of it getting better... I was disapointed

Very upset to see this show go! It's true in my opinion season one was WAY better than the 2nd, but I wish SyFy would've gave it a chance. They could've gone in a different direction, but with all that time jumping, it was crazy!

Another one of my favorite shows cancelled. I think I'm going to stop investing my time in shows anymore since they all get cancelled.
