The new drama will not return for Season 2.

ABC has decided not to continue with Forever, cancelling the freshman drama after one season. The news broke this evening on Twitter from star Ioan Gruffod's wife, actress Alice Evans. The show aired its finale on Tuesday.
Forever got off to a decent start last fall, earning a full season pickup in November after a month of healthy, if not spectacular, ratings. Unfortunately viewership started to dwindle in recent months and failed to pick back up to a level that would warrant a renewal from the network.

THIS WAS MY FAVORITE NEW SHOW EVER!!! WHY WOULD YOU CANCEL IT AND KEEP OTHER GARBAGE!!?? PLEASE SOME OTHER NETWORK.....PICK THIS ONE BACK UP!!!!

That is the second great show these idiots have cancelled. First American Odyssey now Forever. Wish I had a say.

I too am tired of good shows like this one being cancelled. I still feel a lot of resentment, there aren't any to compare.

What a bummer! I enjoyed this show. The acting and the plots were great.
It seems that shows where the main character hasn't aged for a few hundred years have trouble hanging on. "New Amsterdam" was a show that had a similar character. It came and went a few years ago (only lasted for the fall season).

what a shame!!!! an awesome show with ok ratings, like its the first time there was a good quality show buried in the ratings. Network TV time to clean up your act and put your money where you mouth is! GET rid of gargage reality shows and bring back this show!!!!

Please reconsider. Get rid of something else instead. Something that's just hemorrhaging from the inside out like Grey's Anatomy. Yeah. There you go!

Big mistake...what a great show that I replaced watching after the mentalist canceled. Such a disappointment.
