The new drama will not return for Season 2.
May 7, 2015
ABC has decided not to continue with Forever, cancelling the freshman drama after one season. The news broke this evening on Twitter from star Ioan Gruffod's wife, actress Alice Evans. The show aired its finale on Tuesday.
Forever got off to a decent start last fall, earning a full season pickup in November after a month of healthy, if not spectacular, ratings. Unfortunately viewership started to dwindle in recent months and failed to pick back up to a level that would warrant a renewal from the network.

It's a shame they got rid of Forever. Need more shows that make you use your brain, unlike reality shows which are a waste of time on TV.

what a shame! I loved the show and it certainly had the potential to continue.

Really? Shame on Already Been Cancelled for adding to the dumbing down of tv. What do people with an IQ watch on tv? They renew Fresh of the Boat and Black-ish, but cancel Forever that had good ratings and, I don't know, educated people about social history without shoving it down their throats. I guess smart people are just left with the History Channel and CBS.

That's why ABC will never be as popular as CBS. Because they do not let good shows like this one,run more then one year. That why all the good shows are on CBS.

My wife and I enjoyed Forever from the beginning. The story and cast were interesting from the start. So many high-quality shows aren't given a chance to catch on. Here's hoping another network picks it up.

Just saw 3 of my favorites were canceled. Stalker, The Following, and now Forever. Right when he's gonna spill the beans to his partner. Damnit!
