The new drama will not return for Season 2.

ABC has decided not to continue with Forever, cancelling the freshman drama after one season. The news broke this evening on Twitter from star Ioan Gruffod's wife, actress Alice Evans. The show aired its finale on Tuesday.
Forever got off to a decent start last fall, earning a full season pickup in November after a month of healthy, if not spectacular, ratings. Unfortunately viewership started to dwindle in recent months and failed to pick back up to a level that would warrant a renewal from the network.

That's too bad! The stories were better than most. If you could accept the silly premise of somebody dying, disappearing, and reappearing somewhere else it presented all kinds of interesting plot and character developments.
At least the finale of season 1 left the series in a good place with a lot of loose ends tied up.

Not to cry about it...but Forever has a higher viewer rating then Agents of Shield, just not in the 1-49 Demo, meaning that the older population, the ones that drove the total viewers of Forever paste well past that of Marvels Agent mean nothing to ABC. I think we should agree that we do not buy products that ABC has as major sponsors.

Great show, just started with developing good character and long term plot lines, and the fools who know nothing about TV that ABC hired cancel it......hopefully Amazon will pick it up an have another hit with what the major networks dumped.
Makes you wonder if ratings or simply product endorsement sales are used to make the decisions.

Forever was agrate show. ABC you keep all the shity shows why give up so soon.
