The new drama will not return for Season 2.

ABC has decided not to continue with Forever, cancelling the freshman drama after one season. The news broke this evening on Twitter from star Ioan Gruffod's wife, actress Alice Evans. The show aired its finale on Tuesday.
Forever got off to a decent start last fall, earning a full season pickup in November after a month of healthy, if not spectacular, ratings. Unfortunately viewership started to dwindle in recent months and failed to pick back up to a level that would warrant a renewal from the network.

I enjoyed this show. I also believe that if Henry had died each week it may have helped. Just poor writing. This show had promise.

This was one of my favorite shows! What are you thinking ABC? Maybe another channel like TBS will pick it up, one can hope.

Wow, this was a really good show, I really looked forward to watching it, maybe if it got renewed more people would watch it and know it was good because it is on for another season to try it out... now another show crappy will get pilot in the fall when this show could just get another chance to get more viewers just by having second season.... I HATE reality shows. They've really ruined it for tv shows the past few years, too much stuff on tv.

Pretty soon no new show will make it past the first few episodes. When will the networks learn that 99% of the time, a new show takes time to find it's audience. Shows that are not immediate hits get cancelled, and it's just too bad for the people who did watch and enjoy them. My feeling now is, why should I watch new shows, and possibly get invested in them, only to have them cancelled. Why bother?

Well that now brings the number of ABC shows I watch down to ONE------Shark Tank. This network cancels every GOOD show that it airs. The writing and story-lines on Forever are among the best on Television. I wish one of the cable networks would pick up this show.
