No Season 4 for the Kevin Bacon thriller.
May 8, 2015
Fox has cancelled The Following after three seasons. Created by Kevin Williamson and starring Kevin Bacon, the dramatic thriller was a modest success when it debuted on the network in 2013 as a midseason replacement. Viewership dipped in each subsequent season though, with this season's numbers making it the lowest-rated Monday night drama on the Big 4 networks.
The Following still has four episodes remaining before signing off for good. Those will air in 2-hour blocks starting this Monday, with the series finale scheduled for the following Monday, May 18.

I like this show; it has good writing and characters. I am vey interested in how this season plays out. With that said though, I think it's time has come and this is a good time to end it while it is still interesting.

Does anyone else remember the original trailer.
It positioned the show as a dark action thriller but it never played out this way. Season 1 was interesting but then became farcical in season 2

Too bad for fans of this show. I personally am suprised and shocked ro see this go it had grea4 writers and a great cast along with two greatmlead actors and a huge cult following. I could also see a company like netflix or hulu pickint this up as a show.

It's about time! This show only survived 3 seasons was because Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy gave great performances. The writing was just plain terrible. Good riddance.

Best hate-watch show for the past three seasons. On to CSI-Cyber, the next best hate-watch show.

They kill off Joe? I still have three episodes on my DVR to watch. And even with the spoiler alert. I'm kinda Meh! I will watch them but it had gotten to the point it wasn't must see material for me.

The first season was amazing. Good plot twists and turns a lot of great characters some turning bad, some turning good, some just trying to figure it out. I really enjoyed the second season as well and thought it could have headed in a great direction. Picture this: Joe takes over the cult and grows it bigger and bigger until he basically turns it into a worldwide religion, season 8 ending in Ryan is the crazy one and the world is pursuing him. In the third season I had to stop watching. If I heard his "love interest" say one more time: "Ryan you have to let me in," I was going to puke. He's a broken man, we get it!
