The drama will end after Season 3.
August 31, 2015
CBS announced today that Under the Dome will be coming to an end after its current third season. The sci-fi drama, which is based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, will soon conclude a successful run that saw it emerge as a breakout summer hit in 2013. While ratings did taper off each season, it remained as one TV's most-watched summer shows.
The series finale of Under the Dome will air on Thursday, September 10, with the network promising that the dome will come down and its mysterious origins will be revealed.

Not surprised .. made very little sense and the characters were duller than hell...

Guys, the show sucked from the beginning. The first episode was okay-ish, but from there on, it went downhill really fast. I have no idea how some of you managed to sit through 3 seasons of this bullshit. Should have cancelled it right after the pilot or at best after season 1...

did not like Season 3 it was kind of stupid. one minute the kinship was acting like zombies the next minute as every day folks...the END was more ridiculous. WHY a cliff hanger if the show is cancel.

Last season shouldn't have been allowed on TV. It totally sucked.

ermmmm... season 1 ended in a cliffhanger BECAUSE it was renewed. It would have ended differently (and probably better) if they stuck to the original plan. If you wanted a season 2, then you can blame yourself for this show devolving into the junk it did. It was YOU pushing for more that caused the network execs to think "hey there's money here...." But we all know there are far more morons out there watching network TV than smart people.. I mean there's a reason all the cop/legal shows have been running for 15 years and there are new ones every year. There's a reason Dancing with the Stars and the like remain on the air. Those that wanted this show to continue are the PROBLEM with most TV, it's not the execs. If you don't demand better and refuse to watch junk... guess what.... they'll keep feeding you junk because its cheap to make.

This whole story was a dud since Stephen King wrote it and the folks who are upset about the shows cancellation are the same ones who ran out and bought Volume 2 of the novel! Bahahaha good riddance

Instead of being upset that it is being cancelled, be thankful that they dragged it out from 1 to 3 seasons!! I was peeved when S1 ended with a cliffhanger!!It was billed as a mini-series and that is why I watched. I did not care enough to invest time like I did with "Lost" because I knew they would box themselves in a corner with no where to go. The greedy head honchos could not leave well alone, they extended it by coming up with more and more ridiculous story lines.

@Jamie -- I know the synopsis. But again, in the book it was only days and they have managed to drag it out over weeks so it can stay on for two years. It should have been a summer mini-series as originally planned.

@Jamie - Cathy Jo obviously meant years within the 'Show'. Not actual time.

This series has been going downhill since the end of season 1. I think it's a good thing they cancelled it before they tried to drag us thru season 4 of us versus the aliens...
