The sci-fi drama will return next summer.
October 9, 2014
CBS announced today that Under the Dome has been renewed for a third season. The sophomore drama will continue to air as a summer series in 2015 along with Extant, which was just renewed for a second season.
"We're committed to delivering our viewers and advertisers year-round programming with a wide variety of storytelling," said CBS Entertainment Chairman, Nina Tassler. "We continue to see summer as a great place for unique concepts, innovative business models and passionate television audiences."
Season 2 of Under the Dome continued to draw healthy viewership despite lower ratings than its freshman run. The show was once again the summer's top scripted series in total viewers and key demographics.

Glad to see this show was not axed. Really enjoy the twists and turns that it takes. It always leaves you guessing. Just when you think you've figured something out, you get a curve ball thrown at you! :)

The show is like S. King reworked by Disney with bad acting.

Watched it online as a binge, and really enjoyed it. It just kept getting more and more interesting. I'm glad it was renewed.
People who didn't like it probably don't like Sci-fi that much anyway..

Read the book people. Its Stephen King. Its not supposed to make sense. The book was even more farfetched.

This show keeps me guessing. I can't say that about many other shows. So happy the Domers will return for a 3rd season :)

This show is purely driven by mob mentality and fear of the ignorant small town people. This show is 1% Sci-Fi and 99% Drama, should not be allowed to be classified as Sci-Fi.

interesting how you couldn't make it past episode 2 yet can pass judgement so heavily on a show that now has two seasons under its belt.
