The network has reversed its Season 2 renewal.
October 27, 2015
HBO has cancelled The Brink after its first season, changing its tune on the freshman series after initially renewing it. The Tim Robbins and Jack Black comedy was halfway through its debut run when word first broke that HBO had picked up the show for Season 2.
While it is unclear what changed the cable network's mind in the months since, HBO did release the following statement:
"After evaluating our schedule and our programming needs, we unfortunately decided we cannot give The Brink the attention it deserves for a second season. We are proud of the first season and wish everyone involved in this show the very best."

Bummer. Loved the unpc of the show. HBO obviously caved to political pressure.

Loved the show and was one of the main reasons for keeping the Uverse 450 package which includes HBO. The reason I got HBO was for the boxing but that has been a disappointment and this show was why I did not drop it.
Maybe another network will pickup the show or maybe Netflix

Holy cow! Now they're canceling shows they've renewed?? I enjoyed this show. Tim Robbins' character was hysterical. When HBO decided to renew I was extremely happy. Really bummed now. Gah!

Okay. Did HBO hire some rejects from FOX? Is HBO going to start canceling GOOD shows so they can put some CRAP on the air that's "cheaper" to make like all the network channels now? Watch it HBO. People pay SEPARATE for your service. That mean if you piss them of they can cancel YOU and still have cable.......

I liked this. Too bad. Must have been cancelled for some unexplainable reason.. like an actor wanted too much money... or wouldn't commit to season 2 after all. "Attention it deserves" sure sounds like someone wanted more money.

Major bummer, I really liked that show. I know Ballers seemed to have a better following, but much preferred The Brink.

This show sucked, wasn't funny at all. I am a fan of Jack Black but he needed better writing on this

That's a shame. This show is a farce, and sometimes it's hard to find how hard believability can be stretched and still be funny, but this show was pretty good at that. It easily could have survived a second season with the plot lines it had developed.
I'm guessing something internal happened, such as Tim Robbins or Jack Black dropped out.

Hbo is an award winning network. I trust their judgement. They may have something else in the works thats more substantial, with some of this cast.
