The network has reversed its Season 2 renewal.

HBO has cancelled The Brink after its first season, changing its tune on the freshman series after initially renewing it. The Tim Robbins and Jack Black comedy was halfway through its debut run when word first broke that HBO had picked up the show for Season 2.
While it is unclear what changed the cable network's mind in the months since, HBO did release the following statement:
"After evaluating our schedule and our programming needs, we unfortunately decided we cannot give The Brink the attention it deserves for a second season. We are proud of the first season and wish everyone involved in this show the very best."

I would not be at all shocked if someone, probably Netflix, picked this back up, provided the actors are all available and the issue was solely with HBO deciding to can it. It was hilarious and pushed the envelope, I thought.

i love this show,actors are great!! story,productions,director... but maybe some off politichan see them self in show

HBO used to be known for pushing the envelope. They must have pissed someone off. Not surprising as liberals run most networks. Or could it be that the watchers they have now couldn't understand the concept.Those same people don't get British humor either.

What is wrong with the guys who make these decisions. This show was the greatest. So well written and hilarious. I guess we don't need to keep our HBO subscription after all😢😢

This show was hysterical! I am extremely disappointed that they cancelled this show. It showed so much potential to be a quality show on HBO. I hope another network picks this up and hope HBO regrets this horrible decision.

big bummer..... I thought the show was brilliant. So funny, so true and I couldn’t wait until it started again.

Looooved this show. It was laugh out loud funny at times. Top shelf talent filled this cast. If the producers shop around for another network they would certainly get picked up. Netflix is now in the position to grab shows. I hope they do so with The Brink.
