The summer series will return.
November 6, 2015
ABC has announced that BattleBots will return for a second season on the network. The competition series, in which contestants design, build, and battle their robotic creations, fared well last summer during its network debut.
The show originally started out back in 2000 on cable's Comedy Central, where it aired for five seasons. ABC revived BattleBots as a summer series this past June, and during its six-episode run it managed to rank #1 in its time slot among adults 18-49 as well as in total viewers.
Casting for Season 2 is already underway for an expected return as part of 2016's summer lineup.

This is a show I expect to see on a cable channel, like Discovery or Sci-fi. I'm glad the network took a chance.

Good news. I loved the original years ago on CC and the new version is just as good. This show was a nice surprise this summer.
I think alot of the episode though do have too much filler stuff like LONG recaps of previous episodes/battles and pilot bios. They need to cut down on them and get more battles in per episode.

As others have mentioned, this show is just plain fun. Watching those crazy Rube Goldberg contraptions in the ring trying to destroy each other is great.
Glad to hear it's coming back.....hope they have more episodes than last year...

This show is mindless fun. I'm glad it's coming back. Maybe they can afford some pants for Kenny Florian that aren't so tight.

I gave it a go this year thinking I'd hate it but you know what I loved it, I hope they pick it up for more than 6 episodes because it was great fun to watch.

You're right! Why try and get kids interested in physics, robotics, engineering or an of the other sciences this show gets kids involved with. Can't we just have another show with dipsh*ts singing off key? Now those are awesome!
