The cop drama ends after one season.
December 15, 2015
TNT has cancelled Public Morals, opting not to renew the freshman series for a second season. The police drama, which was written by, directed by, and starred Ed Burns, got off to a decent start with its premiere in August. Unfortunately viewership tapered off steadily over the course of the show's run, with its finale garnering just one quarter of its debut audience.

Gustavo unless your blindly dumb you should know no one is perfect and people make mistakes and poor selfish choices. No job is immune from this at all. If priests rape little boys then you can bet their is dirty cops. If no such thing existed we would not need Internal Affairs, watch commanders, and training officers. Why would you cops are perfect right? So shut up I'm liberal and I loved this show. I lived in a poor neighborhood till I was in college we had tons of dirty cops. Heck the police chief and two of his deputies were arrested for beating a tweaker to death so they could steal his drugs. Most cops are undertrained due to budgets. Which is why seizures of innocent people money and property is out of control.

Soft *ss Americans is what the left and progressive liberals want, great show. Was the essence of good against evil and face evil with evil not with apologies and cowardness or negotiations, stop the blue makes you a traider, they are there to protect and serve not to put up with your belligerent ignorant public.

Too bad but I can't say I am surprised. It seems the American public isn't ready for an adult(mature) TV show like Public Morals, I am sorry to see it go ...my opinion, thanks ...

I'm not going to start watching shows until they become "cult like" and every yuppie/hipster gives the show a nod, because if you look at most shows they're catered to that soft man crowd which is really a false reality of what real life is.
Every show that I enjoy which has been cancelled has been a show that is a little on the rough side or more of a "manly" type of a show. Soft *ss Americans!

This was an excellent and realistic show that deserved better treatment by TNT. I fervently hope it's picked up by Netflix, Amazon, A&E, etc. Come on guys!
People who don't know about policing in big cities in the '60s can't appreciate the realism of this show and TNT did a lousy job of promoting it. Of course, the "target audience" can't care less about the '60s!

Dave are you high? Political agenda, really?
Well if you look deep enough into anything you can find a conspiracy no matter how ridiculous. Since you went political I'll start one. Public morals political agenda was to indoctrinate viewers into voting democrat by showing how dirty police in our country have become and that they are the ones to fix it. We must stop this blue brotherhood that thinks of themselves first and then the public. Don't you have morals people!
Ridiculous check. Conspiracy check. Dang I'm good check. Tell Dave to stop watching the news oops I missed that one whatever.

Another good show bites the dust. Didn't have enough of Hollywood's political agenda to allow it to succeed. Well acted, great stories, hope some other station picks this up

This was such a good show. It will probably be replaced with something mindless because of the majority of the audience that watches seems to like those kind of programs.
Thank God for the BBC ... the only quality shows left on television are on the BBC and FX.

No fangs, no show. Unknown actors on the cheap very good, good plots well acted shows, no good. they cater to the phones attached to the hip crowd who will have little to remember of their youth but E-Mails, texting and Apps. That's progress.
