The Marvel drama will return for Season 2.
January 17, 2016
Netflix announced today that Marvel's Jessica Jones has been renewed for a second season. The freshman superhero drama enjoyed a strong first season release late last year that was met with critical acclaim, making it another instant hit for the streaming service. Star Krysten Ritter even picked up a Critics Choice nomination for Best Actress in a Drama.
No premiere date has been set for Season 2 of Jessica Jones, though we do know that another 13 episodes have been ordered, matching its Season 1 output.

This show moves so slow. I mean it is weird in a way. I like it and hate it at the same time. It is good and bad.

Jack, you will see more of the bar owner. This is Luke Cage and he is getting his own series that is supposed to start sometime this year. No date has been announced yet though. We will also see another series with Iron Fist and finally a series that combines all four of the characters, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in The Defenders. I just started watching it and so far I'm intrigued. I'm only through two eps though.

This show is crazy stretched far past the small amount of material on the character.Most of the show is watching Krysten Ritter walk away from the camera focused lower than needed.
Characters do not follow the material they are based on and is as sex charged as that horrible 50 shades of gray, with as little point or cause other than sex sells.
Hope the next season is better, but don't see how.

I'm also glad it started "slow" as some comments say. That way they got the proper introduction and I know their background stories.

Since Krysten Ritter started in it (absolutely love her) I decided to give it a try. That and all the great reviews. I've never been Into all this marvel stuff but I'm obsessed. Its so intresting, has me on the edge of my seat. I'm so glad that we're getting a season two hopefully we get a lot more! Thank you Netflix for the great cast and writing.

Really happy it's been renewed. I'm surprised that so many people here are saying this show is "slow". If you go in to this knowing it is in the style of film noir, you will not find it slow at all. It is dark, mysterious, dramatic, moody and, yes, has enough action to keep things exciting...just don't expect "action-packed".

In my humble opinion, all the drinking and depression stuff needs to go. Let her be a kick ass hero without her always looking like she's on the verge of suicide. Throw some fun in. I'd like to see more of the bar owner and what he can do and more of other characters like them. Focus on her battle against the bad guys and not on her constant looking for love and never finding it, that's what has killed off so many other good shows.

I enjoyed the show. Just like Daredevil, it was sort of an origin story. It was slow for most of the season because they were introducing the characters to the mainstream people who dont read the comics. I think season 2 will have more action, because she does kick ass.

@Pope
haha I could do that!!! I guess I never actually thought to much about why i wasn't able to get hooked and as everyone keeps saying - and it rings very true - its just slow.
But 1.5 speed is doable I watch a lot of reality TV (like HGTV shows) between 1.5 and 2.0 speed this shouldn't be much different lol
Thanks for the suggestion!

I think this show is "dark" in the same vein as "Gotham"; it's not action-based like "Supergirl" or "Flash". I had a tough time staying on board past episode 6, but starting at episode 7 the plot and the characters all came alive, making for a great 2nd half. David Tennant makes a believable villain. Will the 2nd season be any good? Is there a story left to tell? I don't know, but I'll be checking it out!
