USA confirms the end of the veteran drama.

USA Network announced today that the upcoming eighth season of Royal Pains will be its last. The long-running series, which has been one of the cable network's stronger performing shows over the years, was last renewed back in 2014 with a two-season pickup.
The drama's final season, which will see it reach the 100-episode milestone, is scheduled to premiere on May 10 for an eight-episode run to close out the series.

I agree with so many other viewers, have always enjoyed the serious subject matter in a light format. Likeable characters, beautiful scenery, good writing. I will miss this as well, as I do so many USA shows - Burn Notice, White Collar... Hope they end it well, as others have done. Getting harder and harder to find something pleasant to watch.

This is the last of the light dramedy shows for which USA was known before turning to more serious stuff. I enjoyed them for the light summer fare they were. The end of an era!

They never said USA cancelled it. As has been said, it is better that it goes out strong than a ghost of itself. If you want to see something brought back from the dead go watch The Walking Dead, or Fuller House. Too many shows go on longer than they need to and have nothing left to add. If they go on do you want them to bring in Robbie Rist?

It is a good show, but I think it is time to say goodbye, before it turns into another soap opera. I also liked previous USA hits like Burn Notice and White Collar, but also liked they ended both series while they were hitting high notes. Whereas the total opposite can be said for ABC's Desperate Housewives or Brothers and Sisters.
