The drama is axed after 2 episodes.
March 17, 2016
ABC has pulled Of Kings and Prophets from its schedule effective immediately, cancelling its latest drama after just two episodes. The freshman series got off to a slow start with its premiere episode, only to lose 40% of its already-low viewership during this week's episode, forcing ABC's hand.
Taking over the vacant time slot beginning next Tuesday, March 22 will be new episodes of Shark Tank companion series Beyond the Tank.

The problem with this was the cast of this was really ugly so it didn't stand a chance and not very good actors
If they cast Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment it would have been a success

Wow a religious tv show cancelled big surprise. I would of put money on it not making it. Anything remotely religious in the film industry is DOA unless you make it 100% the way people's imaginations see it. One misstep and it is all over.
As for comments their needs to be a minimum amount of episodes before cancellation, how long should a dead horse be whipped before its okay to stop? A mercy kill is what this was. It doesn't take long in the modern day of social media to see a show is over and needs to be cancelled. You can tell before the end of the first episode. It's the time of instant gratification and this did not come close so it was instantly cancelled.
Would you wrather get a full season and a cliffhanger ending then it be cancelled? I doubt Anyone would like to become attached to something much more before its cancelled.

For those who do enjoy Biblical entertainment, which I think this may have been, I agree about Game of Thrones, try History Channel's The Bible. I believe it was better acting as well.

there should be a minimum number of episodes shown before a network can cancel a program. 4 would give a show a chance to gather an audience.

I don't watch any new shows on ABC because they cancel all of them. ABC stands for "Already Been Canceled".

I didn't even get through the first 10 minutes. What a load of garbage. Saul was "head and shoulders" taller than everyone else. David was a mere shepard probably not more than 14 or 15 and 70% of the cast Brits? There is ONE Hebrew actor in the main cast.
The first thing they should have done is fire the casting director and to charactarize ABC's hiring of an Australian and Iranian as Executive Producers as obtuse is about the same as calling the Titanic a dingy.

I'm not surprised that this was cancelled. Look at the changing demographic. We are becoming less religious and more secular (a good thing), so we are less willing to watch this contrived material.

ABC couldn't make anything reverent to save their collective lives.

GAME OF THRONES stays on because its a realistic piece of fantasy fiction. The Bible, otoh, is such a poorly written and unbelievable work, derivative from Greek mythology, that no sane person can suspend belief long enough to get anything out of it.

I liked it, should've stayed on at least a few more times. I don't watch channel 7 anyways. How does Game of Thrones stay on? It's the same thing.
