The new drama will return for Season 2.

MTV announced today that The Shannara Chronicles has been renewed for a second season. The fantasy drama, which premiered earlier this year, is adapted from the best-selling Shannara series of novels by Terry Brooks.
The show was a solid performer across various platforms through its 10-episode freshman season, faring particularly well among younger demographics.
For Season 2, The Shannara Chronicles will be moving networks to Spike TV.

It's been a year and a half since I watched that show. It's marked as getting a second season but there's been no word on when we will be seeing it. Does anyone have any idea???

I'm a 62 yr old fan of the books and this series. So, Millenials and GenXers take heart. When I read the books I dreamt of the day this would happen. Even in reading, stories have their slow moments, we know them to be the calm before the storm and these provide the opportunity to enrich the difficulties to come. I, for one, do not enjoy a solid diet of adrenaline and so enjoy the quiet times to prepare for what's to come, after all, it is the beautiful peaceful ending we all seek rather than war strewn ruins we strive to obtain.

Started off well but kinda went down.Hope the creators learn from first season mistakes and improve it.It is worth saving.

The Elf Chick is hot. Will continue to watch. Would be better if this wasn't on MTV but it's still entertaining enough to block out the annoying teen crap MTV throws around. Much rather see an R rated version on Netflix with heavy violence and harsh truth instead of this love wins the day BS.

Meh - the minute it was announced MTV was the ones doing this, I set the bar very low and expected very little. Those expectations were met at exactly where I set them.
