TLC announced today that Cake Boss has been renewed for a ninth season. The veteran docu-series, which follows baker Buddy Valastro and his family at Carlo's Bakery in New Jersey, also received a top-up to its episode count for Season 8.
The cable network has ordered 10 additional episodes for the upcoming eighth season, which is expected to air later this year.
Season 9, likely eyeing a 2017 premiere, will consist of 20 episodes.

This show hasn't been on in forever. Season 8 premiered August 23, 2016, and their last newest episode was September 13th 2016. It has been over a year since their season 8 got started and as of today 8-26-2017 they have only showed 8 episodes with 8 more "new" episodes to go before finishing season 8 and then going onto season 9. I find it funny that it says "Season 9, likely eyeing a 2017 premiere" , this show is severely UNDER promoted and way too under shown. I like the show don't get me wrong but almost a full year with NO new episodes shown at all and they still think they are on the air. this show is on the life support of being cancelled, someone trip over the life cord and cancel this show once and for all

PLEASE tell me when the new 2017 Cake Boss season will premiere!!! I LOVE this show because Buddy and crew are TRUE artists! I have never seen snything like this show and it is one of the best on TV!

I love watching the "Cake Boss"" Buddy and his family are an inspiration for how families can work together in once place. I love to see Buddy interact with his kids, nieces and nephews. I just heard that Buddy's mother passed away and it just broke my heart because she would crack me up when she was on the show. Please bring me back "Cake Boss". Soon!!!!!

I live and breathe this programme. Im on my own my parents have passed and my children live away. I'm also profoundly deaf I feel this programme is now my family from the moment Ralph walked through the door and watching the families come up against different challenges my dream is to meet them

Only problem is TLC the tv channel has only shown 8 episodes in season 8 and they said it would have 16 episodes. they shown all 8 episodes in September an no more. It's March now, thats right 6 full months later and NO new episodes have been seen. I'm sorry but Cake Boss really needs to step up their game, either put some new episodes on the or invest in some new advertisements to tell when they will or wont be back on tv. Honestly if they never came back to tv I wouldn't miss them.

I wonder if TLC renewed for another season and added on to the new season in hopes of keeping Buddy on the network..He produced a show on food network and now has a special on food network about him and his family going on a 3 week road trip

It's amazing how fast this show gets renewed. I do love the show but the seasons are two short. They show all 26 to 30 episodes with in 2 months and never speak a word of when the new season will debut. They will only say on TLC 2 days before it comes back when its on
