No Season 4 for the crime drama.
October 11, 2016
It is being reported that TNT has cancelled Murder in the First after three seasons. The crime anthology series was a decent performer for the network during its run, though viewership did drop off considerably with each passing season.
Created by Steven Bochco and and Eric Lodal, Murder in the First was the cable network's sole anthology series, with each season focused on a single case. The most-recent season, which followed the murder of a football player, aired its finale on September 4.

I have watched this show off and on, but I was enjoying it. It's a shame.
I absolutely hated the storyline with the lawyer in the most recent season though. To me, smugness is one of the most disgusting things a person can display. He had a punchable face and I honestly wanted someone to kill him, he deserved it. I was holding onto hope something would happen to him in the next season. Grr.

Why are all the shows that require any real thinking skills cancelled? This was a great show!

It would be nice if TNT could figure out what they want to be as a network. Seems like they cancel things for no particular reason. This was a well acted and nicely scripted show which I will miss.

I had suspicions since TNT was taking their sweet time renewing this show (they also took their time when renewing season 1 and 2). I loved this show, I loved how it wasn't just one open and shut case per episodes, but had a real continuation that made you want to figure out the mystery with them. The acting and writing was great.

TNT...you suck. I loved this show. Now that puts me down to watching only two shows on your network (Major Crimes and Last Ship) of course until you cancel those.

sure, this gives them a slot for a 'new exciting reality show about 20-somthing angst'. It wasn't great, but better than most show.
