The comedy will return for Season 2.
April 5, 2017
Ahead of tonight's series premiere of Brockmire, IFC has announced that the new comedy has already been renewed for a second season. The good news comes after the show's pilot episode, which was made available early on various online platforms, was met with a positive reception by both viewers and critics.
Starring Hank Azaria, Brockmire follows a famed major league baseball announcer who, after suffering an embarrassing public breakdown on the air a decade ago, moves to a small town with a focus on reclaiming his career, reputation, and love life. The concept of the show originated as a viral short video on the comedy website 'Funny Or Die'.
Catch the series premiere tonight at 10:00pm on IFC with two back-to-back episodes. As for Season 2, expect a return in 2018 with eight new episodes.

Renewal before a premiere means that it might not do good and the network wants to please the people that are afraid to watch a show if it might get canned. This is a sign that the networks thinks the show might not be worth watching.
Catch 22: Without it some people will be afraid to watch it. With it some people will be smart enough not to.
