IFC announced today that Brockmire will be coming to an end after its already-ordered fourth season. The comedy was last renewed in 2018, receiving a two-season pickup at the time.
Hank Azaria stars in the series as the titular character, a famed major league baseball announcer who, after suffering an embarrassing public breakdown on the air a decade ago, moves to a small town with a focus on reclaiming his career, reputation, and love life.
The concept of the series originated as a viral short video on the comedy website 'Funny Or Die', and its adaptation for television has been a successful one. Audiences and critics have both praised the show, which in its first season drew better ratings than any other new series in the network's history.
Look for the fourth and final season of Brockmire to premiere in March 2020.
Because good and bad is a personal construct that can not apply to a show in a public way. Many people can think a show is good. The revenue will reflect this the show will stay on the air. Many people can think a show is bad and the revenue cannot reflect this. But the revenue ultimately be what the network can see.
