The baseball drama will not return for Season 2.

Word is out this evening that Fox has opted against continuing with new series Pitch, cancelling the show after just one season. Showrunner Kevin Falls broke the news on Twitter, posting "I'm sorry to tell you that @PITCHonFOX will not be getting a second season".
The baseball drama premiered last September as part of the network's regular fall line-up, airing a short 10-episode run that garnered its share of critical acclaim but ultimately failed to draw a large enough audience in its Thursday night time slot against some strong competition.
Produced in partnership with Major League Baseball, Pitch followed a gifted female baseball player who achieved instant fame after being called up to the majors. As a fish-out-of-water rookie, she worked to prove herself to her skeptical teammates - some of whom didn't even want her on the field.

This show failed. Was it bad or was it just not good enough. In the modern age of mega amounts of quality the bar is too high for a show to be semi good.

This show didn't have a chance. The premise was horrible. I knew this wasn't going to make it before an episode aired. No idea how APB is still on either. It's not going to make it another season for anyone that watches that show as well.
