No Season 2 for the book-based satire.
November 1, 2017
It is being reported that VH1 has cancelled Daytime Divas after its first season. The freshman dramedy premiered this past summer with a 10-episode run that was obviously not a strong enough performer to warrant a pickup for Season 2. Vanessa Williams starred in the series, which is based on the book Satan's Sisters by original co-host of The View, Star Jones.
Taking place in a similar setting as the aforementioned daytime talk show, DayTime Divas was a satirical take on the drama that goes on behind-the-scenes. Williams played Maxine Robinson, the creator and main host of the daytime television show "The Lunch Hour". While on the air, Maxine and her four co-hosts appear to be close friends, but once the cameras stop rolling, power struggles and inflated egos take center stage.
