The new drama did not receive any extra episodes.
November 16, 2017
NBC released its mid-season schedule today and it's not good news for The Brave. The freshman military drama is nowhere to be found in the line-up, meaning the network did not order any additional episodes for the show's first season.
The hour-long series premiered in September and through eight episodes has been a decent performer in the 10:00pm time slot on Monday nights, though it regularly gets beaten by a substantial margin by The Good Doctor, which brings in roughly double the viewers, both overall and in the key adults 18-49 demographic.
The Brave takes place in the world of America's elite undercover military operations. In D.C., a team of analysts utilize highly-advanced surveillance technology from their headquarters, while out in the field a Special Ops squad of expertly-trained undercover specialists risk it all as they execute dangerous missions behind enemy lines in the name of freedom and saving the lives of innocent people.
What today's news means for now is that Season 1 of The Brave will end after its initial order of 13 episodes is up, with a final decision on a second season to come at a later date. As history goes, however, Season 2 does not appear likely at this point.
Taking The Brave's time slot in the New Year will be new crime drama Good Girls, which premieres on February 26.

I really like this show. Much better than seal team. I won't be watching its replacement in February!

I only watched the pilot. I guess if you liked the action and never wanted to know about the characters it would appeal to some.
SWAT in my opinion is better because it at least attempts to portray the stresses that such a life must have on the people who routinely risk their lives for so little recognition or understanding by the rest of us.

I finally find a show that I am totally engaged in and find out that it might not be renewed for a second season. There is so much crap on TV - what are you thinking people????

This is by far the best series of its kind. It is better than SWAT, Seal Team, Valor or any other series of its kind currently showing. I rate this right up there with "Strike Back". It is a patriotic show that does justice for our men and women in SOG. I do watch The Good Doctor also, but I would cancel it from my DVR for The Brave any day. Please keep this going, move it to a different time slot if needed, But keep it! As a Comcast customer, I DVR most everything so I hope that is taken into account when looking at numbers.

I am so sick of networks canceling good shows in such a hurry. As all the other commenter said seal team is terrible. This show is fast paced has a good storyline and the characters are likable.

Good. Let's get rid of all of this year's crop of ridiculous military themed shows.
