Netflix has renewed Frontier for a third season. The streaming service has ordered six new episodes of the historical drama for a return sometime in 2018.

Originally commissioned by Discovery Channel Canada as its first-ever scripted series, Frontier premiered up north in 2016 before it hit Netflix for worldwide audiences in January of this year. Two seasons have already aired on the streaming service, with Season 2 just recently released in late November.

Taking place in 18th-century North America, the series stars Jason Momoa as a part-Irish, part-native American outlaw who is campaigning to breach the fur trade. This all takes place in a world filled with warring factions including ruthless trappers and wealthy entrepreneurs who are locked in a battle for power.
