The new comedy has been pulled from the schedule.

It looks like CBS has closed the book on Living Biblically. The network pulled the freshman comedy from its schedule today, effectively cancelling the show after just eight episodes.
The series premiered back in February as a mid-season entry but never really found an audience on Monday nights. In fact, it ranks as one of the least-watched and lowest-rated series on the network, so today's move does not really come as a shock.
Living Biblically follows a father-to-be living in New York City who, after losing one of his best friends, vows to be a better man by living strictly in accordance with the Bible. With support from his wife, a Catholic Priest and a Rabbi, he begins his spiritual journey towards a life with more morals.
Beginning next Monday, repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory will air in its time slot. It is not yet known if CBS will burn off Living Biblically's remaining episodes at some point in the future.

I liked the show but when the Rabbi's wife had an affair, I knew the show was doomed.

Well it was billed as it wouldn't be easy and it wasn't it was just junk , thank you for stopping it and may it be a lesson....
what happened to a non televised pilot in front of execs like the old days and then seeing if it really is worth it , maybe we don't have to be subjected to such shit ...because the majority consensus is that you made such a show ... Yawn ....superior donuts is more funnier

Suzanne and others, the show is based on the book by AJ Jacobs who successfully did a year of living by the letter of the bible.
The intent isn’t to ‘offend Christians’ but to follow AJ’s story as closely as possible.
The issue with the show is bad casting. None of the actors were that impressive. Camryn Mannheim in a comedy? Really?

The show cherry picked one biblical issue per episode and exaggerated it beyond any reasonable point. Which I guess is what bottom dwelling sitcoms do. The main character was so ignorant of what is in the bible, he actually had to be told in each episode what biblical law he was breaking and then he would focus on that one thing to the exclusion of all else. He didn't even maintain these "lessons" across episodes.
If they wanted to show a person coming close to following the bible, they should have at least told him about Quakers. Maybe they should have had a dozen episodes where he doesn't have a car, phone, electricity, computer, etc. and works 14 hours a day, 6 days a week, and prays a lot. That would have been funny.

I thought this concept could be good if it was done well since it is obviously impossible to live following EVERYTHING in the bible. I liked some of the cast, but even so, I didn't find myself looking forward to the next episode. Actually I will happily delete the episodes I haven't watched yet. Oh well
