The Jason Ritter drama will not return.
May 11, 2018
It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Kevin (Probably) Saves the World after just one season. The news is not a complete surprise after the network previously declined to give the new drama a full season.
The hour-long series premiered as part of ABC's fall lineup last October, and while it received a mostly-positive reception from critics, it struggled to find an audience on Tuesday nights. In November the network extended the show's run by only three episodes, which raised eyebrows due to it being short of a typical back-order for a fall drama.
Jason Ritter stars as the titular character, Kevin Finn, who is a self-absorbed man down on his luck and on a perilous path to despair. When he heads back home to stay with his twin sister and niece, an unlikely celestial being appears to him and tasks him with a mission to save the world, giving Kevin a new purpose in life.

I was so disappointed that this show was cancelled. The cast was wonderful and it was refreshing to watch a non fire department, medical, police or reality show. ABC didn’t give it a chance and made no effort to find the right spot for it. I was hoping Netflix would pick it up...there are so few family shows to watch and this one was awesome.

It's so hard to find a normal not Disney crap family show that my wife and I were comfortable watching with our ten year old daughter. I'm not a prude, I will watch anything...but I this was enjoyable for adults and kids alike...funny and warm and with a great message. I DON'T think it was overly religious even if that was the backdrop used to explain why being a good person is important. Very displeased about this :/

This show was better suited for FreeForm to start with. If it would have started there, it wouldve been renewed...

Well. That sucks. This show had tremendous opportunity. Jason Ritter is really a class act comedian. :(

I agree with the person who wrote _ _ _ _ ABC! This show had great morals on display. This is another evidence of the liberal, twisted, non-family friendly minds that make ABC what it is, (liberal, twisted, and non-family friendly). Good bye ABC. If anyone is interested, FOX is bring back "Last Man Standing" also a show with conservative family values which ABC also cut in what appears to be an assault on family values. Disney at it's best. Now i've said enough!

I liked this show, but given that it defies an easy description or explanation, I'm not surprised it never found its footing. This was such a nice, family friendly show that it could have only survived with a lot more backing than it got.
The biggest thing I found lacking in Kevin is the lack of reveals. The main reason I like quirky shows where people have ridiculous secrets is to see the occassions when other characters are finally let in on the secret. I haven't watched the last few episodes as I was waiting for this expected bad news, but I will be happily surprised if I do get my reveals.
I love all things Jason Ritter so I will be watching for his next project. I doubt anyone else could have played this part and taken the show even as far as it did get.
