No Season 5 for the veteran drama.
May 12, 2018
Word is out that CBS has cancelled Scorpion after four seasons on the air. Star Katharine McPhee confirmed the news on her Twitter account this morning, thanking her cast mates and crew for her time on the show.
The action drama, which follows a group of geniuses helping to solve high-priority crimes, was a decent performer for the bulk of its run. Its most-recent season saw a significant downturn in viewership, however, making today's cancellation somewhat expected.

It had run its course, becoming more trite and corny with every episode. I don't care what your IQ is, you cannot change the laws of physics, but these guys allegedly did. Completely unrealistic.

@red71rum - My favorite example of that was a "24" episode where Bauer and Chloe were in a coffee shop, she was using a borrowed laptop on the free wifi. Bauer was screaming at her that they only had 3 minutes until the horrible disaster occurred. She said "Oh no, the DOD has added a new firewall with a 500 kilobit encryption key that cycles every 30 seconds." Bauer screamed "There's no time!!!". Chloe furrowed her brow, tappy-tappy-tappy, "OK, I'm in."
I don't know how the cast was unable to burst out laughing.

@John. The writers got lazy. They reused the same plot outline every week:
1. Something terrible happens (e.g. life on Earth is about to end or Timmy falls down a well).
2. They devise a brilliant Rube Goldberg machine to fix the problem.
3. It fails.
4. They devise a workaround.
5. It fails.
6. They figure a correction to the workaround.
7. It fails.
8. (repeat last 2 steps as necessary to pad out the hour)
9. Come up with a last second solution that pretty much ignores steps 2 to 8).
I could literally set my watch to when each of these steps occurred in each episode.
Maybe the writers knew the show was ending and decided to have all the characters split up with a bitter hatred of each other as a FU to the viewers.
I liked Tina Majorino on the show. She made it more watchable.

Terrible show, so fake, the tech on the show was not realistic. Glad it is gone. Having a DJI phantom fly for an hour on one battery, the fake super-typing when programming. Anyone who knows computers would see how lame this show was. Network tv is confused by tech, shows like NCIS having characters yell enhance to make grainy video show more detail, total BS. Shows like these need to go.

I couldnt get past the *SPOILERS* episode where the kid is trapped in an underwater cave. So unbelievably far fetched the way they got him out. And every episode was like that.

Sons of bit**es!!!!! That was one of my favorite shows... So different than all the other crap on tv. Makes my decision to stop watching new shows so much easier. And when all my other shows end bub bye tv!
