YouTube has announced that Step Up: High Water will be returning for Season 2 on its subscription service, YouTube Red. The good news comes four months after the dance drama's freshman release, which has so far received over 22 million views.
The online series is a continuation of the "Step Up" film franchise, this time focusing on the students and faculty at High Water, Atlanta's most cutthroat school for the performing arts. Janelle and Tal are twin sisters who have just relocated from Ohio, and they find themselves in a totally different world. As they adjust to their new environment, the girls learn just how far they'll push themselves to realize their dreams - both on and off the dance floor.
Step Up: High Water is the second original drama to be picked up for a second season on YouTube's subscription service, which will be renamed to YouTube Premium in 2019. The other is Cobra Kai, which was quickly renewed after a strong premiere earlier this month.
10 episodes have been ordered for Season 2, matching the length of its freshman run. Look for a premiere in 2019.
