The sci-fi drama will not be back for Season 4.

It appears as if Colony has been cancelled after three seasons. The sad news comes just days before the sci-fi drama's season finale - which will now serve as its series ender.
The writing appeared to be on the wall when fans noticed a lack of representation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where the show has been known to have a regular presence. A tweet by Wes Tooke, who wrote numerous episodes each season, expressed sadness that they won't be able to finish their story.
The series had a solid run on USA Network, at one time ranking as cable television's most-watched scripted series on Thursday nights. Viewership has tapered off, however, with Season 3 hitting series lows that were obviously not up to the network's expectations.
Set in the near future where Los Angeles becomes occupied by outside invaders, Colony follows a former FBI agent and his wife as they risk everything to protect their family and bring liberty back to the people of earth.

This was a show that has been on my binge watch list that I was going to tackle later this summer. Without giving any spoilers did it at least end ok? Is it worth watching?

Ugh!! Great show - was really intrigued by the outlier concept and wanted to see how it'd be explored. Networks need a bit more patience and less reality shows..

That is a shame, I quite liked it.
Although this last season had a bit of a weird start for me I really wished they would at least get enough episodes so we can have a proper ending.

To be honest, the show is a victim of its own pacing. It was painfully slow to develop the story. All the time in the first two seasons I was wondering "What's outside the wall?"
Then, in S3, they gave us six or so episodes outside the walls and it was a breath of fresh air, only to have the family go back into another city and... rinse and repeat.
I don't mind slow pot-boilers, but there is a limit, and this one just took too long to move the story forwards.

I like the show but I'm not surprised its been cancelled, something is missing. Season 3 in Seatle, especially the first few epsisodes was slow, that resistant camp, a lot of wasted time there, it didn't add to the show and story.
No enough action, IMHO
The story line is just starting to get interesting. What the hosts are, global authority politics, another enemy thats coming and the war with it, outliers, the break down of the family and its loss.
It deserves another season though to explain things, since the first half of season 3 was slow and mundane even.
