The summer drama will be back for Season 2.
October 9, 2018
The CW announced today that it has picked up Burden of Truth for a second season. The Canadian-produced drama premiered in July as part of the network's summer slate and just concluded its freshman run last week.
Kristin Kreuk stars in the series as Joanna Hanley, an up-and-coming corporate attorney who returns to her hometown of Millwood, a prairie town with an industrial past, to represent a major client in a case against a group of sick high school girls. But after winning the case handily, Joanna learns that the girls are actually sicker than previously thought, and stays around to look for answers.
A second season of Burden of Truth on The CW appeared likely, as the drama had already been renewed up north back in April. Look for it to return as part of The CW's summer lineup in 2019.

I have a feeling that the next season will be something like The Sinner. Kreuk will be back did another case, well known now from the previous case in the first season.

For a second series I don't think they could use the same location everything is sorted there I was thinking the main two would team up again and it would be a whole new different cast

It’s ok even with its fake feel. Everything about it comes off as contrived even though the story itself is actually good. The jerking motions and acting of the sick girls isn’t the problem, but almost everything else is. The lead actress and actor are good but little comes off as real because everything is too convenient, all one way. The relationship with her ex, her father (especially), her mother, the town, isn’t made real. Of course the town priest is hideous evil, police corrupt, and the dominant sexual relationship is a very awkward gay relationship between two of the young girls. There is the suspense of a story that should have been good, but unfortunately, little more.

I liked it, but I also liked how it ended.
