The supernatural thriller will end its run next week.
December 22, 2018
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Midnight, Texas after two seasons. The news comes as the supernatural thriller winds down its sophomore run, with next week's episode on December 28 now acting as its series ender.
The show premiered in 2017 for a 10-episode summer stint that, while ultimately garnering mixed reviews, drew solid viewership numbers for the network. A number of changes were made in Season 2, including a move to the fall schedule, the departure of two original cast members, and a change of showrunners. But its momentum from Season 1 could not be maintained, as ratings have been softer this time around.
Based on the best-selling book series by Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas is a remote town that sits on a veil between the living and hell, and nothing is what it seems. It is a place where outsiders fit in and being normal is considered strange. As members of the town fight off pressures from ever-suspicious outsiders ranging from cops to biker gangs, they band together to form an unlikely, yet strong, family.

Watched the Premier episode mostly for Kebbel.. show was jsut over-the-top ridiculous. Suspension of disbelief only goes so far.

Enjoyed the 1st season. But this season was too much. And NOT in a good way. Lost too many characters one way or another. BTW, HATING this final episode!

Well, they lost me with the latest episode, the angel carrying a cross and putting a pentagram on the doors of the church was just a bit too much for me. I know others will disagree and talk about how it's a show about good versus evil and included demons, etc... but just a personal line for me.

I was surprised and excited M,T returned this fall. Maybe nbc should have waited till winter. Also was shocked that Mumford was beheaded, and thought how the hell can M,T continue??? Then I saw here cancelled and figured, we'll that makes sense. Arielle Kebble is so sexy as a bad ass chick!!! I hope she finds a new series.

Season 1 was good. Season 2 is terrible. Bring Creek back just to kill her. Manfred with a married woman. Fiji turning to dark magic. I was not entertained & quit watching.

I loved season 1 and was sad to see Creek and the Rev were leaving for season 2. I did like season 2, but I am not surprised with the move to Friday nights in the Fall, the cast changes, the major departures from the book series and the change in showrunners. A lot of the stuff that's left I am only watching to see how it ends (if it does).
