The dramedy will return for Season 2.
January 23, 2019
WGN America announced today that Carter has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes three months after the Canadian-produced crime dramedy concluded its 10-episode freshman run on the cable network.
The hour-long series stars Jerry O'Connell as Harley Carter, an actor who became famous as a teenager after solving the mystery of a serial killer in his small town. Now he makes his living in Hollywood playing a grown-up version of what he was as a kid - but it's getting old. After experiencing an embarrassing public meltdown, Harley returns to his home town but finds that he can't leave solving mysteries behind. Utilizing his acting experience, Carter becomes a real-life detective and partners with a police veteran and a street-smart coffee truck owner.
Look for Season 2 of Carter later this year.

I am so glad this show was picked up. Agree, it’s bit campy but that’s the he appeal. I miss Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder, AND most importantly MONK- they were clean family shows- where right was right and wrong was wrong- just like Carter

With all the shows that have "famous" characters deciding to give the P I gig a try, I didn't really expect this one to get picked up for another season. I preferred Take Two, but I will still happily record Carter. I agree with Rosie's description, and light etc. Is exactly what I want sometimes.

I agree with Rosie! Great show. Yes, it can be a little campy at times, but that's the appeal of the show. Jerry and his cast mates have good chemistry.

Really glad to hear this show is returning for a 2nd season. I've always been a fan of Jerry O'Connell & happy to see him in another TV series. This show is light & fun & doesnt require a bazillion brain cells to watch. Its just pure entertainment.
