The comedy earns its first pickup at Fox.
April 18, 2019
Fox announced today that Last Man Standing will be returning for an eighth season. The good news, which comes on the eve of its 150th episode, marks the comedy's first renewal at its new network.
The Tim Allen series was cancelled back in 2017 after six seasons at its original home on ABC. It took some time, but a year later Fox decided to revive the show for the 2018-2019 season. The move has been paying off for the network, as since its return Last Man Standing has been garnering healthy ratings on Friday nights, currently ranking as Fox's third-best scripted original in Live+7 viewing.
Last Man Standing follows Mike Baxter, a man's man who works as a marketing director for a sporting goods store. But while he may be the king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out at his female-dominated household.
Look for Season 8 of Last Man Standing in the mid-season of 2019-2020 season.

Tried multiple times to watch, but I could not get over Nancy Travis. I just don't like her. I didn't watch Becker because of her. She (almost) ruined "Rose Red" for me. I liked her (kinda) in "So I Married an Axe Murderer". But I cannot watch this. No vote from me -- unfair to do so. Happy viewing!

Oops I mean tricked Tim's character into letting him bang (meaning he had Tim's approval to hook up with two of his three daughters). Wow what I first said sounded terrible lol.

@Mark You call the son in law who tricked Tim Allen's character into banging not one, but two of his daughters an idiot?

@Aethn. "It picks fun at both sides of the isle and points out many absurdities of both parties." Not when I watched it. You count that idiot son in law as one side?

I've seen better. This got to be too just say stuff against one side and act like it is a joke. Too political to be funny.

The show is funny and intelligently written. It picks fun at both sides of the isle and points out many absurdities of both parties. The best part is Tim Allen goes back to his Home Improvement days and ends every show with a feeling that you just learned some important lesson in life, regardless of your politics.

It's funny how, when you have a show that doesn't mirror all the other left-wing shows, the left calls it "right-wing propaganda".
It's a comedy - and a good one.

@Khelben, what do you mean since they “politic-ed” it up a few years ago? It’s always been right-wing propaganda since day one

One of the only shows on TV the kids can watch along with the parents. One of the last shows with wholesome family values.
