The veteran comedy will say good-bye in 2021.
October 14, 2020
It was announced today that Last Man Standing will be coming to an end on Fox after its upcoming ninth season. The long-running comedy received its last pickup in May, though there was no hint at the time that it would be its final season.
The Tim Allen series has had quite a successful run. Premiering in 2011, the half-hour show aired for six seasons at its original home on ABC before being cancelled in 2017. Since its revival on Fox, Last Man Standing has performed well at its new home, garnering healthy ratings and often ranking as one of the network's most-watched and top-rated comedies. The show leaves Fox as its only returning live-action comedy, as its recent comedic focus has been on animated fare.
Last Man Standing follows Mike Baxter, a man's man who works as a marketing director for a sporting goods store. But while he may be the king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out at his female-dominated household.
Look for Season 9 of Last Man Standing to premiere in January 2021.

The past season was junk compared to previous years. It used to be one of my favs and it showed that, unlike on this comment board, people can discuss politics without being total a-holes. Glad theyβre ending it but I hope Molly Ephraim can make some sort of joke cameo role.

I've watched LMS from the beginning and after 8 seasons it's still one of my favorite shows to watch. If it had to be cancelled, I'm glad that FOX is giving them one more season to wrap everything up. All I know from going by all networks past decisions is whatever they have come up with to replace LMS will pale in comparison and be disappointing.

I would have loved to see Roseanne end up on this show as a new neighbor in witness protection or with amnesia, would have been great!

It's time. Look, the show replaced two of the actors playing the daughters and the last one became an occasional guest star. It did well for several seasons but now it's just filling up a time slot.

Obviously you are a conservative, you can't even spell my name right, uhhh yeah it has 5 letters that is 1 letter too many. Liberals are played out? Or just me specifically? Because you don't know me to make a personal attack at me. And the conservative party of NO morals? We should emulate That? No thanks!!!

I'm laughing so hard at the babies whining that this show is cancelled for (pretend) political reasons. News flash: Shows end sometimes. They should probably end a lot sooner than they do.
