No Season 2 for the mid-season comedy.
May 30, 2019
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Abby's after just one season. The sad news comes with three episodes remaining in its run - tonight's back-to-back airings and the now-series finale on June 13.
The comedy premiered in March as a mid-season entry, promoted as the first sitcom to ever be filmed live in front of an outdoor audience. While its critical reception leaned positive, the show failed to garner a healthy number of viewers on Thursday nights.
Abby's followed the staff and guests of an unlicensed, makeshift establishment that locals in a San Diego neighborhood frequent. The ex-military owner, Abby, gets pushback from her new landlord over her business, but he warms to the idea as long as some changes are made.

Oh, well, if someone who watched one whole episode thinks it's bad, it must be bad then.

I saw the first episode of this and while I like "Janitor" (Neil Flynn), Im really not surprised this didnt get picked up again. It was pretty dumb looking from that first episode.

Hasn't everyone realized the networks are going back to more reality shows again like they did 15 years ago. They are cheaper to produce!

I'm absolutely bummed that NBC did not give this show much of a chance especially after the great episodes last week particularly when the title character attempted to serve customers with her hands all bandaged up with hilarious results. I guess there is no audience for barroom sitcoms anymore despite the success of "Cheers". As a side note, Nelson Franklin, the actor who played Bill has a recurring role on "black-ish".

Not surprising people didn't like it 'cause it was too funny for the typical brain dead American who drools over The Bachelor or The Amazingly Idiotic Race. Next up, season 173 of Survivor!

The main problem with this show, even with a good supporting cast, Abby is just not likable. Why anyone would go to a bar with someone with so many hangups and stupid rules is beyond me. The main character should at least be someone the audience likes.

The only character I liked was Bill the landlord. I tried and tried to watch this show but couldn't get past Abby. Just did not like her character.

I found the outdoor location and the idea that somebody would set up an unlicensed bar in their backyard intriguing. Yes, it was a "Cheers" clone. But that show had characters interesting in their foibles. There were real sparks between them. On this show all the characters were bland.
What a waste of Neil Flynn's talents, especially after "The Middle".
