The new drama will not return for Season 2.

Word is out that NBC has officially cancelled The Village after one season. The sad news comes the week following the ensemble drama's now-final episode. The series premiered in February as a mid-season entry, airing 13 episodes that ended up drawing mixed reviews and only so-so ratings.
Episodes followed the close-knit residents of a unique apartment building in Brooklyn, which is home to people who have built a bonded family of friends and neighbors. While they would not know each other if not for a shared residence, these people from disparate backgrounds have made their own family with the community around them, while facing their own challenges.

This is just absurd, The Village was amazing. IMO is had a great cast of knows and unknowns. The story was well told. How each person life and situation was different but at the same time connected. How this can get canceled and other shows like The Enemy within and whiskey Caviler . But yet "Reality shows" like the voice or that other one where they dress up in fury's make the cut. Hopefully this is picked up by Netflix or another network.

I kept looking to see if this was canceled and after weeks of waiting I took a chance and watched the rest of the season this past weekend!! The only good thing about this is that the season ended with no cliff hangers. A lot of the stories wrapped up enough to be satisfying so I am good.

I just don’t understand these decisions to cancel the show after one season. The shows tarent even given a chance for the characters to fully develop. And the show had different plot lines so it wasn’t boring or drawn out too long. These networks have to give the shows a chance
