No Season 3 for the Spike Lee dramedy.
July 17, 2019
It is being reported that She's Gotta Have It has been cancelled by Netflix after two seasons. The news comes less than two months after the dramedy's sophomore release, which has received mixed reviews after its generally-well received freshman outing.
Based on Spike Lee's first feature-length film of the same name, which he wrote and directed in 1986, the television adaptation premiered in 2017 with a 10-episode run. Season 2 returned in May with nine episodes.
Lee directed every episode of the show, which follows a free-spirited Brooklyn artist in her late twenties. A modern black woman who is progressive, passionate, outspoken, and unapologetic, she does her best to juggle her job, her friends, and her three very different lovers - all while trying to stay true to herself.
